Peripherin

Chicken Polyclonal Antibody

DDESCRIPTION: Peripherin is a member the intermediate filament protein family which includes desmin, peripherin and vimentin.  It is found in neurons of the central nervous system and in sensory neurons of the peripheral nervous system and thus is a useful neuronal-specific marker.  Peripherin mrna can be alternatively spliced, producing 3 proteins having molecular weights of 56 kDa (Per-56), 58 kDa (Per-58) which represents wild type peripherin, and 61 kDa (Per-61).

SOURCE: Chickens were immunized with purified recombinant rat peripherin.
   
FORM/STORAGE: 0.1 ml with 50% glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide. 
Store at -20º C.  Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.  Immunoglobulin isotype is IgY.
