Peripherin

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

PRODUCT #: 40-1260

DESCRIPTION: Peripherin is a member the intermediate filament protein family which includes desmin, peripherin and vimentin. It is found in neurons of the central nervous system and in sensory neurons of the peripheral nervous system and thus is a useful neuronal-specific marker. Peripherin mRNA can be alternatively spliced, producing 3 proteins having molecular weights of 56 kDa (Per-56), 58 kDa (Per-58) which represents wild type peripherin, and 61 kDa (Per-61).

SPECIES CROSS-REACTIVITY:

Mam

APPLICATIONS/DILUTIONS:

IHC/IF (1/100 – 1/1,000)
WB (1/1,000 – 1/5,000)

SOURCE:

Rabbits were immunized recombinant peripherin.

FORM/STORAGE:

0.1 ml with 50% glycerol, 0.01% sodium azide and 1.0 mg/ml BSA. Store at -20º C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Cytoskeletal homogenates of rat spinal cord were run out on a 7.5% SDS-PAGE gel.  Individual strips cut from this membrane were probed with monoclonal antibody to peripherin (lane 1, Cat.# 40-1252), or polyclonal antibody to peripherin (lane 2, 40-1260).
